The incident occurred at the Easts Leagues Club in Coorparoo, where 33-year-old Cameron Clark was dismissed around 2 pm for inappropriate behavior toward a 20-year-old coworker. According to police, Clark returned to the club shortly after 5 pm, allegedly seeking revenge. He confronted the waitress in a hallway, stabbing her in the head, hands, and wrist. And this is the part most people miss: a brave chef intervened to protect her, only to be stabbed in the hip himself as the woman tried to escape. The chaos didn’t end there—Clark reportedly pursued her into the dining area, launching another attack in full view of horrified patrons.
It took a group of bystanders to restrain him until police arrived. Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham described the event as “life-altering” for everyone involved, emphasizing the lasting trauma for both victims and witnesses. The waitress, a resident of Norman Park, underwent surgery and is now in stable condition. Meanwhile, Clark remains hospitalized under police guard, facing charges including attempted murder, unlawful stalking, and causing grievous bodily harm. He’s set to appear in court on Monday.
