Scientists have discovered a frigid, Earth-like planet, but with a twist. The team found that HD 137010 b is possibly a rocky planet that orbits a Sun-like star about 146 light-years away. It likely takes around one year to complete a revolution around its star, similar to Earth. The planet's orbit places it just within the outer edge of the star's habitable zone, where liquid water could potentially exist. However, the planet has a 50-50 chance of falling beyond the habitable zone entirely. The researchers' discovery was based on a single transit, where the planet's shadow moved across its star, dimming the star's light. For HD 137010 b, this transit lasted 10 hours.
