Author talk series begins at the library

A series of in-person author talks at the Ridgefield Library will begin this month on April 12 with author Cathy Katin-Grazzini at 7:00 p.m.

An author conference with Dean Sluyter will take place on April 28 also at 7:00 p.m. Both author talks will take place in the main program room of the library and are co-sponsored by Books on the Common who will provide books for sale and signing. Katin-Grazzini, a food writer and advocate, is the author of “Love the Foods That Love You Back: Clean, Healthy, Vegan Recipes.” His talk is for people who love to cook and for home cooks who want to invigorate their repertoires and discover the healing properties of food. Her recipes are sure to please everyone, whether you are a herbivore, carnivore or omnivore.

Sluyter will talk about his new book, “The Dharma Bum’s Guide to Western Literature.” With a lifetime of teaching Dharma – authentic, traditional approaches to meditation and enlightenment – Sluyter unpacks the Dharma of over twenty major writers, from William Blake to Dr. Suess, encouraging readers to deepen their own spiritual lives. and to see literature in a new light. new way. Sluyter gives talks, workshops, and retreats across the United States and beyond. From Ivy League colleges to maximum security prisons, her media appearances have included NPR, The New York Times, The Dr. Oz Show and O., The Oprah Magazine.
