Letter to the editor: Maine should reset educational priorities
While Maine and its illustrious leaders talk about an instructional video that defines the word “transgender” for kindergartners, in a healthier part of our country, Florida deals with the practical side of education.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently signed SB 1054 into law. The legislation was passed unanimously by the state House of Representatives and Senate in early March.
“What the bill does with financial literacy really provides a foundation for (high school) students that will be applicable in their lives no matter what path they take,” DeSantis said at a press event. March 22. “…It will provide students with a foundation to learn the basics of money management, understand debt, understand how to balance a checkbook (and) understand the fundamentals of investing.”
Let’s reorder Maine’s priorities.
